So, you’ve been cooped up in the house all winter and you’re just dying to get outside with your special someone and have an enjoyable day together. But, what to do? With so many options out there, it can get a bit overwhelming. Rather than just resorting to your good ol’ safe bet, like dinner and a movie, try one of these spring date ideas instead!
8 Spring Date Ideas:
1. Be a tourist.
Get dressed up in your finest “tourist-y” outfits and pretend to be tourists in your own town/city. Take a look on Yelp or TripAdvisor and see what the best rated things to do in the area are, and go do them. You just may find a whole new appreciation for your hometown. Bonus points if you wear a fanny pack!
2. Go to a playground.
Pack some snacks or lunch or breakfast or whatever and head on over to your local playground. Play around on the swings, slides, and monkey bars just as you did when you were a kid. Not only will it bring back such fun childhood memories, it will also give you and your significant other a chance to just be silly together.
3. Grab those Groupons.
Unless you live in a cave, you know what Groupon is. And with the website offering so many discounted activities, dinners, and other fun things customized to your area, you and your loved one are bound to find a few that tickle your fancy. So, buy those Groupons and make a day of it!
4. Plant a garden.
Maybe you and your special someone have been talking about growing your own vegetables for awhile now, or maybe you just feel like adding some splashes of color to your front yard. Whatever the reason (not that you need one), go get your hands in the soil. Even if you don’t have a lot of room, you can still try your hands at container gardening. A fun activity, yes, but so rewarding too!
5. Enjoy an amusement park,
Even if rollercoasters and tilt-a-whirls aren’t really your thing anymore, there’s no shortness of fun stuff to do at an amusement park. So test drive those bumper cars and fly high on the ferris wheel, but make sure to indulge in some typical amusement park food while you’re there. I suggest going during the week if you want to try and beat some of the crowds. In fact, some parks even offer “after hours” passes at discounted prices.
6. Sunrise and breakfast,
I know, I know, you’re thinking that watching the sunrise with your significant other is so cliché. And you know what, you’re right! But any excuse to go out to breakfast at your favorite diner or restaurant is a good one in my book. Get up early and get on your way!
7. Build something.
We all have some project that we’ve been putting off or just haven’t had the time to start. Why not kill two birds with one stone and get that project done, while also spending some quality time with your loved one. Maybe you have an old bureau in need of a facelift or maybe you’ve always wanted window boxes. Well, now’s the time to get those things done! Gather up your materials and get to work.
8. Go canoeing.
There’s nothing fancy needed for this one. Pack up some food, grab or rent a kayak or canoe, and venture out on your favorite lake or river. Stop at a few spots throughout the day to really breathe in the beauty of nature.
