For every beauty product you used this morning, there are probably 4 or 5 you need to throw away. Right now. We know it’s hard, especially with those beauty products that were purchased in hopes of  making you prettier and happier. But no matter who you are (us included!) there are some products that just have to go.

4 Beauty Products You Need to Throw Away Right Now:

1. Anything Expired

Makeup:

Mascara and other eye products have the shortest life spans with only 4 to 6 months of safe use. Anything over that puts your eyes at risk for infections. Foundations last 6 months to 1 year, while your powders can be kept around to 2 to 3 years.

Beauty:

Beauty products expire too. Cleansers and AHA exfoliators need to go after one year. Moisturizers only last 6 months while lip balms can used for up to one year. You know those sample packets you picked up at the department store? After opening it, you get 1 day. Yes, one day.

If you can’t remember when you purchased it, it’s probably safe to say the expiration date has passed.

2. Foundation Makeup That Doesn’t Match Your Skin Tone

If it’s too dark or too light, you aren’t going to be able to use it. Your friends may tell you it’s okay to mix shades but if the makeups are different formulations, the ingredients could react causing a huge problem on your face! Better to toss and be professionally matched so it doesn’t happen again.

3. Sponge Applicators

You know the ones. They come in the cute little eye shadow palette you just bought. Do yourself a favor and throw them out. They create harsh lines and don’t blend the shadows at all. A brush works much better.

4. Broken Powders

We know you think you are being frugal, but you are probably just spreading highly pigmented or sparkly dust all over your bathroom! The mess is not worth it, toss it!

Anything else you think needs to be thrown out?
