We understand that a girl needs to look her best. But when your “best” takes the better part of two hours? It’s time to re-think your beauty strategy.
1. Your drive to work takes less time than your eye makeup.
We know that smokey eye looks really amazing, but when you can drop off all the kids at school, stop for gas and be at work more quickly than you can do your eyes? It’s time to find a new look.
2. Your skincare routine has more than 3 steps.
Taking care of your skin is important business, but if you are layering on 10 products, do you really know what you are accomplishing? Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize. That’s all you truly need. When you really want a treat, a mask can be added.
3. Being 20 minutes late is your new being on time.
We totally get that you can’t rush flawless hair, but spending more than 30 minutes on it is over-the-top. Slightly “lived-in” hair is in right now, so go with it while you can!
4. Your vanity looks like it belongs to a 17-year-old girl.
We remember those days. We were too busy to put away the makeup, which meant a layer of loose powder covering the surface, lipsticks and eyeliners everywhere and half-used bottles of foundation littering the landscape. Now that you are an adult, if you end up spending more time looking for what you need that actually using it, something isn’t working. Simplify (and clean!) by tossing your old stuff and keeping your everyday products within reach.
5. You have to finish your look in the car.
If your everyday look takes so much time that you aren’t able to complete it at home, you need a change. Not only is this stressful, but applying mascara while driving down the highway is very dangerous.
How have you simplified your beauty routine?
