When celebrity fashion and beauty experts are on the lookout the most up-and-coming trends, they head to the runway for tips and inspiration. Now I don’t know about you, but when I see some of the latest “runway looks,” or “high-fashion trends,” I can’t help but shudder (and maybe gag a little) at the very idea of trying to sport the looks myself. (I mean, bedazzled Crocs? Seriously??) Luckily for all of us, this year’s holiday beauty trends fall on the more neutral side of things, making them realistic trends I can actually follow.
According to L’Oreal Paris Celebrity Experts, Sir John and Mara Roszak, these four easy-to-achieve beauty trends are the ones you can expect to see this holiday season (AKA, fall through winter) and thankfully for all of us, there’s no neon colors or an abundance of glitter.
Long live the berry lip! Just like Kelly Clarkson is sporting here, a dark berry-colored lip is on-trend for the holiday season– just find a shade that complements your skin tone. Start by lining your lips with a berry-colored liner, then fill them in with a matte lipstick!
It’s easy to be scared of using metallics and glitter, but don’t let it keep you from giving it a try! Maren Morris rocks a subtle gold and grey combo and it makes her eyes pop! If you’re going to go for this look, keep the rest of your makeup fairly simple so the attention stays on your eyes.
This look might never stop being on-trend! If you don’t have naturally thick lashes, don’t be afraid to play with false ones! You’d be surprised at how far they’ve come in making fake eyelashes look real!
Tousled, Loose Waves
Honestly though, when is Carrie Underwood not #hairgoals?? Thankfully for all of us, lose, beachy waves are really easy to achieve with a curling iron or even a flat iron (my personal preference!) Find a good sea salt or texturizing spray you can work through your hair to polish off the look!
As I mentioned before, these looks are simple enough that you can rock them on a daily basis, or you can dress them up and make them a little more dramatic for a date night or a night on the town with the girls. Regardless, I think we can all agree that we wouldn’t mind seeing these trends stick around for a while!
