I love to cook. Really, I love chopping vegetables after a long day of work. I also love watching cooking shows and trying out the recipes on my own. It’s kind of like how some people watch Olympic gymnasts and say, “I can do that.”

These days, it seems like if you’re not a country music star or on a reality TV show, you’re a celebrity chef. Or you just have your own cooking show. It’s kind of like how old rockstars move to Nashville to record a country music album– halfway famous people who enjoy cooking now get shows about cooking. Sometimes, these shows and these chefs are a tad disappointing or maybe they’ve just run out of recipes. Every single chef with a TV show has a recipe for green beans, something “healthy” with multiple sticks of butter in it and some type of lemonade.

The best part about these cooking shows is when chefs share recipes for dishes that only have one or two ingredients. The other great part about celebrity chefs is when they suggest you buy ingredients that you can only find in spot on the entire planet. Nothing is ever easy with these people– minus these recipes that shouldn’t even be called recipes.

5 Recipes From Celebrity Chefs That Are Kind of Embarrassing:

1. Ina Garten // Bacon
Yes, the Barefoot Contessa shared her secret for cooking bacon– “Lay the bacon on a sheet pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the bacon is really crispy.”
Most small children could nail this one– if they can reach the oven mitts.

2. Trisha Yearwood // Green Beans
Trisha is the best, but does this recipe really need 97 seconds of airtime?

3. Ree Drummond // Egg-in-a-Hole
The Pioneer Woman is my favorite too-easy recipe sharer. Once, she dedicated an entire episode to cooking 10 pounds of black beans. But, showing viewers how to fry an egg and butter bread takes the cake for my all-time favorite recipe.

4. Tiffani Amber Thiessen // Pimento Cheese
This recipe was submitted by a One Country reader in Texas. Really, it’s just mixing a few cheeses together, but Kelly Kapowski explains it to her guest like it’s quantum physics.

5. Martha Stewart // Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Martha invented the damn game and she’s still calling this a recipe.

Bonus!
Here’s Martha teaching you how to make the world’s most expensive chocolate cake with only the very best ingredients.
