If you follow Chip and Joanna Gaines outside of their HGTV fame, you know that they value their faith in God and hold it at the highest importance for their family. Now, they’re using their assets and resources to help out a church in need.

According to Today, Church Under The Bridge is a service that brings in around 200-300 worshippers, including homeless individuals and several other marginalized groups, providing a safe place for them to freely worship.

The Waco division of Church Under The Bridge recently found themselves displaced after a multi-year widening project along Interstate 35 began, meaning they could no longer meet in their usual location.

Once Chip heard the news, he knew they had to help— so, he reached out to the ministry’s pastor, Jimmy Dorrell.

“I was sitting in my office one day, day-dreaming, thinking about making a commitment, and we reached out to Jimmy,” Chip said. “He came over to the Silos, and we agreed it would make a great fit geographically. We said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and shook hands on it.”

According to Pastor Dorrell, the ministry has entered into a one-year agreement with Magnolia to use the Silos at no charge, after which the parties will revisit the arrangement. Eventually, the ministry wants to meet at its original under-the-bridge location.
