Chip and Joanna Gaines Open Up On Possibility of Returning to TV

Back in April, HGTV aired the final episode of the much-loved show Fixer Upper after hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines announced that their fifth season would be their last. From there, they directed their attention to other projects, such as their magazine, their home accessories line of products and yet another book.

“Being in front of the camera is a different experience than running a business, and we run businesses,” Chip says. “That’s who we are.”

Yet, in a new interview with People magazine, the couple seemed to hint that they just might consider a chance to return to television, if the right chance comes along.

“We never rule anything out,” Chip says in the new interview. “The show was amazing and we are so thankful for it, but it’s also a whirlwind where, if you are not careful, it will flat run you over. You can’t believe how out of gas you are.”

Yet, they have come to expect the unexpected in their life, both personally and professionally.

“That’s what I love about life. It’s these surprises, and at first you sit there and go, ‘How does that fit?’” adds Joanna. “And now that it’s all happened I can’t imagine life any other way. I’ve never been so happy.”
