Fall is finally here and that means it is time to change out the wardrobe. It’s time to pack away the flip-flops and cute shorts and trade them out for leather jackets, sweaters and jeans. While fall fashion is fairly simple, there are always a few mistakes to be made. To ensure you don’t fall victim to these fashion faux pas, we created this list of the top 3.

3 Common Fashion Mistakes You Need to Avoid This Fall:

1. Wearing Open-Toed Sandals

Unless you live in where it always feels like summer, fall is the time to wear your ankle boots, tall boots, flats or other closed-toe shoes. A pair of sandals just makes the entire outfit feel out of place. Plus, your toes will probably be cold! You may also be tempted to wear a pair of socks with those cute sandals because you saw it in that cool fashion magazine. Just keep in mind that what looks on the runway during New York Fashion Week typically doesn’t translate well in real life.

2. Wearing Summer Patterns

While there a lot of great summer pieces that can transition right into fall, it’s time to put away the ones with patterns that are summer-specific. We love a summer floral as much as the next girl, but fall has several patterns that you can become just obsessed with. From rich plaids to tweeds to animal prints and even color-blocking, don’t sell yourself short by wearing out-of-season patterns.

3. Not Adding Color

As tempting as it may be to wear black or brown all season, fall is the perfect time to add pops of color to your wardrobe. Jewel tones really look great this time of year and add depth to your layers. If you aren’t comfortable wearing a bold shirt or pant, add color with a scarf or a handbag. It doesn’t matter how you add it, just that you do.

We hope these tips help!
