Sadly, Labor Day signals that summer is officially over! The temperatures begin to cool and leaves begin to fall as we head into a new season. However, before you start dreaming of fireplaces and Pumpkin Spice Lattes, there are few things that need to be taken care of.
4 Things Every Girl Needs to Remove From Her Closet Before Labor Day:
- Cheap flip-flops.We aren’t talking about your nice ones, we are talking about the cheapies you pick up at in a $1 bin. These are perfect for traipsing back and forth to the pool or on the deck of a boat, but outside of that, they serve no purpose outside of function. You need to pack them away until next summer. Exception: If you will be headed to the pool or lake over the holiday weekend, you can pack them away the day after Labor Day. But no later.
- Items you haven’t worn since last year.Time to make a donation to Goodwill. If you haven’t found a reason in more than 12 months to wear something, it’s time to let it go. Besides, it’s just taking up valuable space in your closet when someone else could be enjoying it.
- Sun dresses that can’t transition.
You know we love a good transitional piece, but if you can’t throw on a leather or denim jacket to make it work, it needs to be packed away until next spring. We know you’ll miss it, but imagine how happy you will be when you get to wear it again in a few months.
- Things that no longer fit.If something doesn’t fit you now, chances are, it isn’t going to fit next year either. Add it to the donation pile and call it a day.
