If there is one thing we love about fall it is that it is now the season start layering! Hopefully, you’ve pulled out all your sweaters, scarves and coats to prepare for those chilly days when only cozy layers will do.

Before you get started, you need to know there is somewhat of an art to layering all those gorgeous layers without looking bulky. You can’t just start piling on clothes and hope it all works out. (I am speaking from experience on this one!) There are key pieces you need a few simple guidelines to follow to keep you warm while complementing your figure.

5 Simple Steps to Layering For Fall:

1. Start With The Basics

Your first layer needs to be lightweight such as a basic tee or tank. A neutral will work best.

2. Add Your Second Layer

This layer can be a cardigan, a pullover or a blazer. This is a great place to add color or a bold print.

3. Remember That Proportions Are Key

You will need balance when it comes to layer. Keep your jeans or pants simple when layering.

4. Play with Textures

Incorporating a mix of textures will keep your look modern and chic. If all of your layers are the same fabric it can come across as boring or even dowdy.

5. Accessories Are Layers Too

Don’t forget the accessories! That would be like leaving the butter off your biscuits. Scarves, jewelry, hats, and handbags make a good layered outfit, a great one!

Above all, when you are layering have fun and be creative!
