With so many jeans available today, it is essential that you know what you are looking for so you can get the pair perfect for your body type. Don’t worry about whether or not you are getting designer jeans, the key to fabulous is getting the perfect fit.
5 Steps to Buying the Perfect Pair of Jeans:
The rise is super important when buying jeans that best flatter your figure.
Short-waisted: A low-rise jean will give the illusion of a longer torso.
Plus-size: A medium-rise will balance your frame.
Long torso: A high-rise jean will make your legs look longer and leaner. Avoid super low-rise as they make your torso appear longer and your legs, shorter.
The cut can make or break your look. Make sure it’s right.
Hourglass: Low-rise, slim fit, straight jean is a great way to accentuate those curves while looking natural.
Full on curves: A pair of slim fit, boot cut jeans in a dark wash will really flatter your shape.
Short legs: Just say no to capri pants, always. A skinny or a straight cut jean is best on you.
Long legs: A slim fit, boot cut lengthens those already long legs.
The wash is important, too. A darker wash is always more slimming than a light one.
Blue: The basic wardrobe staple is the blue jean. The darker the blue, the greater the slimming effect.
Faded: Less slimming, but still a fun wash to wear on casual days.
Black: For an edgy, sexy vibe, a black jean is always a win. Bonus: They lengthen your legs and slims you down.
Acid: Attention ’80s chicks. This wash is making its way back. It will definitely give you a youthful appearance.
Whiskering: We love the look of wear in the creases. Obviously, this gives the jean a more casual feel.
Jeans should be almost skimming the ground when you are standing. Anything shorter (outside of ankle jeans) or longer should be altered or passed up.
You know how we feel about sizes. Ignore them. Buy the jeans that make you feel good and look good. Just keep in mind that jeans will stretch out a little so go with the size that is a little snug rather than a little loose.
