If you want to get to your travel destination more quickly, there a few items you should leave home. Besides, you don’t want to get on the bad side of a TSA agent. Ever.

9 Things You Should Never Wear in an Airport:

1. Maxi Dresses and Skirts

These are never your best bet for getting through security quickly because a TSA officer will have to check that you are not hiding anything under your skirt.

2. A Belt

Nobody wants to be behind the person who has to unbuckle and remove their belt. You know you are going to have to take it off, so leave it in your suitcase.

3. Lots of Bobby Pins

We totally understand that you are growing your hair out and it is in the awkward stage that requires a lot of pins to keep it in place. But trust us, you aren’t going to make it through security with all those pins in your hair.

4. Complicated Shoes

You know you have to take them off, so don’t make the nice people behind you wait on you to remove those shoes that lace all the way up to your knees. Wear something easy to take off, you’ll be happy you did.

5. Lots of Jewelry

While perfect for a touch of glam to your outfit, trying to take off rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces in a rush is never easy to do. If you want to wear jewelry, put it in a bag in your purse to put on after you get through security.

6. Cargo Pants

These are the worst. All those pockets are a nightmare and almost always set off the alarm. When you have 42 pockets and the security officer asks you to remove items from them, you will always forget at least one pocket. Most likely the one with your keys in it.

7. Bulky Pullovers

Again, you have to remove these and trying to get a pullover off without messing up your hair while balancing your carry-on, purse and kids is not fun at all.

8. Heavy Perfumes or Scented Lotions

While this won’t the security process, it will make everyone around you not-so-happy. Be considerate of others and skip that step of your morning routine.

9. High Heels

Can we get an amen on this one? Trying to get from point A to point B in high heels in a large airport is basically pure torture. They may feel fine for the first few gates but after that? You can forget walking normally for at least 3 days. Save your feet, wear something more comfortable.

What did we miss?
