Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson has officially taken the fashion world by storm and is set to launch a line of adorable rain boots October 1. Not just any line of rain boots, but boots that come with a mission and fit perfectly with Sadie’s humanitarian heart. For every boot sold from the Sadie Robertson ‘Live Original‘ collection, a pair will be donated to a child in need. How cool is that?
We are excited to be a part of this rain boot launch and had the pleasure of asking Sadie a few questions about the boots.
1. What made you decide to do a line of rain boots?
When Roma came to me and showed me videos of the boot drops they were doing to give boots to kids in need in different countries, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Their message of “give poverty the boot” is very inspiring. I like how here in America, where most of us can afford a cute pair of rain boots, not only get to purchase these boots, but we also get to help a child out. I mean, who doesn’t want to do something good for the world and get a pair of rain boots at the same time?
2. What was the inspiration behind the designs?
The inspiration behind the designs was truly just what I thought was very fashionable, cute, and what a lot of girls would love to buy. I tried to create a look that I would definitely buy if I saw it in a store.
3. How do these boots fit into your ‘Live Original’ brand?
These rain boots fit my ‘Live Original’ brand in a perfect way. I have said this several times when I do public speaking and I said it in my book: People today want to do good things for the world, they just don’t know what to do. These rain boots are an easy way to help to do a good deed.
4. What is your favorite way to style rain boots?
My favorite way to wear rain boots is probably just with skinny jeans, a cute rain jacket, and a cute little umbrella. Sometimes, I also like to wear rain boots with shorts and wear tall socks just tall enough to peek out of the rain boot.
5. Which design is your favorite and why?
My favorite design is probably the claret boot with the lace up in the front, but that’s only because it’s my favorite color. I love all the florals, but I really love the short black boot with the floral design.
6. Tell us a little about the hashtag #givepovertytheboot.
“Giving Poverty the Boot,” which I explained a little bit about in the first question, is Roma’s mission. For each boot purchased, another boot is made and donated, for a child in need. They call them “shoe drops,” and I am hoping to go on one with them. The kids who are receiving the boots are in poverty and truly just need a pair of boots. I watched a video from one of their shoe drops, and the smiles on all of the kids were just incredible.
7. What was your favorite part of this project?
My favorite part of the process was probably sitting and talking about the designs and getting to watch the videos of the shoe drops. It’s these kinds of things that make you feel good about what you are doing.
8. What’s next? Are you developing any further fashion ideas?
What is next for me? Good question, but that’s a question I never answer. I let the Lord decide what’s next for me and I go from there. If a fashion opportunity presents itself, and it fits in the message with ‘Live Original’ then I would love that! I do have a jean endorsement with Wild Blue and their message is to make everyone feel confident in the person that they are. That was a perfect fit, so I am looking forward to seeing that come out as well!
We are so excited that Country Outfitter is the exclusive launch partner of the Sadie Robertson ‘Live Original’ rain boot line by Roma. Through November, they are available only on CountryOutfitter.com
