We had a great time in 2013, but like most people we’re also looking ahead and hoping for a fresh start to the new year. While we’ll probably still be wearing skinny jeans and too many scarves in 2014, we’d like to see a few new things, too. Here are a few things we’re hoping catch on this year.
Let’s make it easier to get dressed in the morning, shall we? No one’s going to make you literally jump around, but be a sport and bring back the jumpsuit. Babies wear one-pieces almost exclusively. Adults should get in on this, too.
2. A Country Boy Band
Just like the Backstreet Boys or One Direction, but with foot-stompin’ and twang.
3. A Shorty-overalls Come Back
Mostly because they let you show off your boots. Actually, ONLY because they let you show off your boots. Unless you’re 1990s Winona Ryder. Also, we love saying “shorty.”
4. Another Country Music-Nelly Collaboration
Nelly paired up with Florida Georgia Line for Cruise, one of the hottest country songs of the year. And who can forget his 2004 collaboration with Tim McGraw, “Over and Over Again.” It’s a simple equation: Nelly + Country = Hit. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another decade for another one.
5. Law & Order: Deep South
It’s time for a new franchise. We need more stories ripped directly from the headlines. Here in the South we don’t hide the crazy in the attic. The Sunday edition of any decent local paper will yield at least five seasons of plot twists and turns.
