When Chip and Joanna announced that “Fixer Upper” was coming to an end after season 5, they promised that they would make the final season their best ever, and they continue to deliver on that promise. First, we saw our former first lady, Laura Bush, then Tim Tebow and, for the very first time in “Fixer Upper” history, a couple got engaged on the show, and it was the sweetest.

TJ and Stephanie met when Stephanie was working for a non-profit that served the the Wounded Warrior community in DC. TJ had just returned from Afghanistan and was recovering from injuries. After falling in love, the couple decided to move to Texas and bought some land in Waco that had a barn on the property. They hoped to renovate the barn, but had a small budget with a big wish list.

Luckily, Chip and Joanna were able to make those dreams come true, alongside several local businesses that wanted to help once they heard TJ and Stephanie’s story. In the end, they were able to double their original budget thanks to the generosity of community members.

While the house itself was of course insanely gorgeous, the most exciting part of the episode came at the end when JT got down on one knee and popped the question to Stephanie.
