With school in session, it can be hard to come up with dinner ideas. Practices and rehearsals make things even more complicated, so by the time you get home, you’re not in the mood to come up with the perfect meal. With this recipe, you don’t have to. This super simple ham and beans recipe is a classic that you can make in 5 minutes, with just a few ingredients. Check it out.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb package dried northern beans
  • ham bone, hocks, shanks or diced ham (about 1 pound)
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 6 cups water
  • salt & pepper to taste

  • Directions:

    Rinse beans, then add beans, onion powder, salt, pepper, and ham to pot. Add water. Close, and cook on low for 8 hours. If using a ham bone, remove meat and add to pot. Serve and enjoy.
