Joanna Gaines Shares Throwback Pictures in Honor of Magnolia’s 15th Anniversary

-

Chip and Joanna Gaines have come a long way over the last 15 years— and they have the pictures to prove it.

While today the two have the Silos, their Magnolia Table restaurant and cookbook, an entire home goods line at Target and so much more, there was a time when they were simply working their little mom-and-pop shop.

In honor of the 15th anniversary of their Magnolia shop, Joanna took to her Instagram to share some hilarious and inspiring photos from when they first opened the store in Waco, Texas.

“15 years ago… Happy Anniversary Magnolia!,” Joanna said. She went on to call out a few specific things about the throwback pictures that were worth noting:

“A few things I want to call out from these photos: Red lipstick. The vase on the counter- I remember I stenciled the words “imagine” and “dream” on these glass jugs. We bought for a buck each at a garage sale. They were my best seller that season,” she said with a laughing emoji.

As for the eclectic sign outside the building, she says it was a surprise from Chip when they realized they couldn’t afford a custom sign for their wall.

“The sign on the building was what Chip surprised me with when we found out we couldn’t afford a real sign. He always saves the day. This was also the year that the phrase “Live Laugh & Love” was at its peak in popularity. And my biggest regret was selling that large antique counter in photo #3. I still think about that thing. I have zero regrets though about stepping out and just going for it- this shop, this business, it has our hearts.”

She went on to thank everyone who has been there for them over the years.

“We are so thankful and this is why we SILOBRATE! Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, we wouldn’t be here without you.”
