As women are continuing to find for their voice across all industries and more and more women step forward with allegations of sexual assault or harassment against powerful men, one company has decided to help the cause by creating a chip just for ladies.
Oh, yes, that’s a real thing, though Doritos didn’t say the chips were created as a part of the #MeToo movement. In an interview with Freakonomics, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi suggested that consumer research drove this new product, “Women would love to do the same, but they don’t. They don’t like to crunch too loudly in public. And they don’t lick their fingers generously and they don’t like to pour the little broken pieces and the flavor into their mouth.”
It’s not that chips are a different color or have a different taste, it’s that the chips are “low-crunch” designed because that’s what women want. They also want equal pay and safe work environments.
