Nick Saban, head coach of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide is notoriously stoic. So stoic, in fact, that no matter the outcome of the game he’s just coached, he rarely offers up a smile or anything that could be considered emotion. Until now.
It seems that his sixth national championship and his team’s overtime victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff National Championship enabled him to loosen up those lips a bit and crack a smile.
Of course, after the game, he also told ESPN, “I’ve never been happier in my life.” And he said it without even hinting at a smile.
