If you follow The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, on social media, you know that she’s pretty much obsessed with her pups. She even has some basset hound-themed decor in her Pioneer Woman line at Walmart!
In January of last year, Ree shared that their long-time family dog, Charlie, had died. “Charlie, our beloved Basset Hound, died yesterday. He lived a full life out here with the cows and the rabbits, and I’m so grateful he was ours. I feel a little funny writing much about this, because Charlie was a dog—and because there is so much human tragedy and sadness all around that this can’t even begin to compare to. But anyone who’s ever loved a dog understands this specific sense of loss. I love you, Charlie. Thank you for being the dog of my dreams,” she shared at the time.
Now, they’re mending the hole that Charlie left with this sweet new pup. “No one can ever replace ol’ Charlie the ranch dog…but this little guy sure is going a long way to fill the hole Charlie left. Even Walter likes him! At least he will in a couple of weeks. Meantime, I’m completely puppy drunk. Schnockered,” she said in a post.
Here are 13 times that Ree Drummond was (rightfully) obsessed with her fur babies.
1. “Here to save the day!”
2. “I don’t think I’ll complain about my jowls again anytime soon.” LOL
3. Their dogs are even the most popular part of their ranch tour!

Sweet, kind, gentle Walter.❤️We are having free Drummond Lodge tours all this month for visitors to @pwmercantile, and while the parents walk through and take pics, the kids get to shower our ol' floppy-eared fella with love and affection. Enjoy every minute, Walter. You deserve it!
