The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, is feeling extra loved as she rings in the big 5-0!

In honor of her 50th birthday on January 6, Ree Drummond’s husband, Ladd, threw her a fun-filled surprise party— despite her wishes to let the birthday “blow over.” Ree took to her Instagram to share a series of photos from the big night, along with some details about the sweet details Ladd included to make sure the night was perfect.

“Ladd had a surprise birthday party for me last night. I was truly surprised,” she started.

“My sister was there from Seattle, my closest high school friends came from San Diego, Dallas, Kansas City, and Atlanta, and my oldest/dearest childhood friends were there, too,” she said.

Ladd even got the chefs at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile to make some signature food for the guests to enjoy.

“Friends and family from Pawhuska showed up, and our Mercantile chefs and bakers made a spread of food I’ll be daydreaming about for the rest of my life,” she said.

At the end of the evening, we were gathered around a fire pit laughing so hard about old stories and memories that our ribs hurt,” she said.

Needless to say, it was a night she won’t soon forget.

“I had been telling my husband that I really wanted the whole birthday thing to blow over this year and just pretend it never happened,” she said. “I’m so glad the little booger decided not to listen to me.”
