In case you missed it, Ree Drummond and her husband, Ladd, are renovating a hotel in their hometown of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Well, it’s technically a hotel, but Ree refers to it as a “boarding house.” Regardless, it’s happening, and she’s sharing updates of what we can expect.
According to her latest update, Ree said that construction is moving along smoothly– windows are in, doors are installed, and balconies have been repaired.
“[This door] eads to the balcony, where guests can sit outside and enjoy the small town goings-on of Pawhuska, America. (This should be a lot of fun when we have street dances and other gatherings in town),” she shared.
They’ve also uncovered several murals throughout the building that Ree says they’re leaving up. Some will even appear in the bedrooms!
“I’m excited about the progress, and what’s great is that we’ve pretty much worked through the finishing touches for each of the eight rooms in the hotel, from the bathroom tile to the furniture to the colors to the light fixtures,” Ree shared in a blog post. “This is much different from projects I’ve done in the past, where I do nothing ahead of time and scramble to get things two weeks after I need them. Planning ahead—what a concept! Each of the eight rooms will be different, and it’ll be fun to see whether what’s in our mind will translate to what’s in the rooms.”
While no official opening date has been set, Ree says we can expect it soon.
“We’ll know soon what our opening date will be, and as soon as we can commit to that, we’ll open the boarding house/bunk house/hotel/inn up for reservations. I think Marlboro Man and I might be the first in line,” she said.
