Reese Witherspoon’s “Whiskey in a Teacup” is the Southern Girl’s Ultimate Guide to Living

-

If you’re anything like me, you grew up looking at Reese Witherspoon as the ultimate southern belle. She’s sweet, gracious, classy and down to earth— but, like any good southern girl, she has a feisty side: like whiskey in a teacup.

Hence, the name of Reese’s first-ever book, Whiskey in a Teacup. According to Reese, her grandmother, Dorothea, always said that a combination of beauty and strength made southern women “whiskey in a teacup.” We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside we’re strong and fiery— which is exactly what her new book is all about.

From how she decorates her home to how to make perfect fried chicken and how to wear hot rollers on the go, the book covers everything every true southern girl ought to know in life.

Reese took to Instagram to celebrate the release of the book, saying, “Today, my first book ever, Whiskey In A Teacup, is out. This book gave me an opportunity to reflect on growing up and all the traditions that I learned from my friends and family in the South,” she shared. “I’ve included some of the recipes that remind me of home, and are staples in my house, as well as no-fail tips and tricks that I live by. I’m so humbled from the experience of it all and honored to share it with you.”

Whiskey in a Teacup is available on Amazon, at Barnes & Noble, Target, Walmart and more now.
