There’s no doubt that Thanksgiving can get a little stressful, especially if you’re the one hosting. Between getting your home ready for guests and cooking a delicious meal for your family and friends, things can get pretty hectic. So the last thing anyone wants to do is deal with complex recipes. And the good news is that you don’t have to!

4 Sweet Potato Recipes to Impress Your Thanksgiving Guests:

1. Creamy Whipped Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 pounds sweet potatoes (about 4 medium)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons maple syrup

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400. Using a fork, poke potatoes all over. Place potatoes on baking sheet and bake for about 1 hour (depending on their size, you may need to bake for an additional 15 minutes). Set potatoes aside and let cool. Once cooled, cut potatoes in half and scoop out the flesh using a spoon. Add flesh to a food processor, then add butter, syrup, salt, and pepper, and process until smooth and creamy. Note: if you don’t have a food processor, that’s no problem—just go ahead and mash them the good ol’ fashioned way!

2. Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

4 large sweet potatoes

¼ cup + 2 tablespoons butter

¼ cup half and half cream

Salt to taste

Topping:

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup flour

⅔ cup butter, melted

2 cup pecans, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Using a fork, poke potatoes all over. Place potatoes on baking sheet and bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes; then set aside and let cool. Once cooled, cut potatoes in half and scoop flesh into a large bowl. Add in butter, cream, and salt, and mash until it reaches your preferred consistency. To make the topping, in a medium bowl, combine brown sugar and flour. Slowly add in butter, stirring constantly with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Add potatoes to a baking dish, cover with an even layer of crumble topping, and top with pecans. Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.

3. Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

3 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped

1 cup fresh cranberries

½ tablespoon maple syrup

½ tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl, add potatoes, cranberries, syrup, and oil, and stir until evenly coated. Add in cinnamon and salt, stirring until combined. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spread potatoes out in a single layer. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until tender. Season with salt to taste and enjoy!

4. Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients:

½ cup sugar

⅓ cup butter, softened

2 eggs

2 cups mashed sweet potatoes

¾ cup evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

1 unbaked (9-inch) pie crust

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425. Using a stand or hand mixer, cream together sugar and butter. Mix in eggs until just combined, then mix in sweet potatoes, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Pour potato mixture into pie shell and bake for 15 minutes. Lower oven heat to 350 and continue to bake for about 40 more minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool and serve with a nice dollop of whipped cream!
