HGTV’s Tarek El Moussa Shares Message to Parents After Son’s Hospitalization

“Flip or Flop’s” Tarek El Moussa has an important reminder for parents everywhere during cold and flu season.

Over the October 13 weekend, Tarek’s son Brayden, whom he shares with his ex-wife Christina, was taken to the hospital after he was having trouble breathing due to croup. Tarek took to Instagram to share the story with his fans in hopes of reminding parents that it’s okay to ask others for help.

“So my Big Boy had Croup over the weekend while he was with grandma. It is always very scary to see your child having a hard time breathing. 911 was called and he was taken to hospital in an ambulance,” Tarek said alongside a photo of his son in the hospital.

“I’m sharing this to remind people it’s okay to ask for help in scary situations. The police and fire department are trained to help in these situations. Thank you to all that protect our families, communities and also country. And…of course…Brayden still looks cute.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, croup is an infection of the upper airway, which can cause trouble with breathing and give children a “barking cough.”
