With spring in full fling, life can get pretty crazy. Between yard work and spring cleaning and driving the kids around to all their activities, you may forget to take some time for yourself to relax. And what better way to do that than with a refreshing tastes-like-springtime cocktail… or three!
6 Tasty Cocktails to Spruce Up Your Spring:
1. Mixed Berry Mule
Ingredients:
4 blackberries
1 ounce raspberry vodka
½ tablespoon lime juice
Ginger beer
Lime wedge for garnish
Directions:
Add blackberries to a rocks glass and muddle, or smash, to your desired texture, then add ice. In a cocktail shaker, shake ice, vodka, and lime juice together until well combined. Strain into prepared glass then add ginger beer to fill. Garnish with a lime wedge and start sippin’!
2. Fizzy Limoncello Sangria
Ingredients:
Mango chunks, pineapple chunks, and strawberries
1 (750-ml) bottle champagne
3 cups limoncello
2 cups orange-pineapple juice (plain OJ is yummy too!)
Directions:
Prepare some glasses with ice. In a pitcher, add fruit. Stir in champagne, limoncello, and juice. Pour mixture into prepared glasses and serve.
3. Honeydew Margarita
Ingredients:
Lime wedge for garnish
Kosher salt for garnish
1 cup honeydew melon, roughly chopped
¼ cup tequila
1½ tablespoons lime juice
¾ tablespoon triple sec
½-¾ teaspoon simple syrup (depending on taste)
Directions:
On a small plate, add salt. Wipe lime wedge around rim of margarita glass, dip rim in salt to coat, then add ice to glass. Set aside. In a food processor or blender, puree melon until smooth, then pour into a cocktail shaker. Add in ice, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup, and shake well. Strain mixture into prepared glass and garnish with lime wedge.
4. Tropical Rum Punch
Ingredients:
3 parts pineapple juice
3 parts ginger ale
1 part Malibu rum
Pineapple chunks for garnish
Directions:
Add ice to a glass. Pour in pineapple juice, ginger ale, and rum, and stir well. Garnish with pineapple chunks.
5. Peachy Arnold Palmer
Ingredients:
Peach slices for garnish
1 ounce iced tea
1 ounce lemonade
1 ounce bourbon whiskey
½ ounce peach schnapps
1 teaspoon simple syrup
Directions:
In a rocks glass, add ice and peach slices. In a cocktail shaker, add ice, iced tea, lemonade, bourbon, peach schnapps, and simple syrup, and shake well. Strain into prepared glass. Enjoy!
6. Blackberry Lime Champagne Spritzer
Ingredients:
⅓ cup blackberries
⅓ cup sugar
⅓ cup water
Juice of 1 lime
1 (750-ml) bottle champagne
Blackberries for garnish
Lime wedges for garnish
Directions:
For the blackberry simple syrup, in a small saucepan, bring blackberries, sugar, and water to a boil. Then turn heat to low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain mixture then set aside to cool. Once cool, add 1½ tablespoons of the blackberry syrup and a splash or two of lime juice to each champagne flute. Top with champagne and garnish with blackberries and lime wedges.
