It’s easy to let beauty be secondary when you’re rushing to and from work, school, and activities. After all, who has time for looking great when you have so much going on? Fortunately, there’s a way to balance the two, making for happier mornings. Check out our tips below.
1. Prep at night.
This is a simple yet often forgotten way of creating more time in the morning. After all, why struggle with yourself early in the day when you’re barely awake, when you can just prepare things at night when your brain is still going full power? This is especially useful for night owls, who hate mornings by default. Lay your clothes out, pack bags, pack lunches, and do anything that you can to give your morning a smoother start.
2. Create a shower playlist.
Showers are an amazing way to unwind. Sometimes too amazing. Unfortunately, the warm water and time to yourself can prove a detriment to your to-do list. To keep yourself from losing time in the shower, create a shower playlist of a few songs. Once your songs are over, it’s time to hop out.
3. Keep tights from running.
We’ve all been there. You’re on a last minute rush out the door when a dog, kid, or cat tears a run in your hose. This is the worst, because you have no time to really do anything about it. Instead, try this trick to prevent the tears altogether. Believe it or not, hairspray is a time-tested a proven method of strengthening the fibers in hose. Just spray it over them after every wash, and you’re ready to go.
4. Shave with baby oil.
Moisturizers are great, but they’re super expensive. Why bother when you can just shave with baby oil? You get a shave and moisturized legs all at once. Definitely a time saver!
5. Combine your facial lotion and foundation.
We know you use foundation, and we know you moisturize (or you should be, anyway). You can combine the two, saving yourself some time and energy in the morning. Moisturized, makeup on, and ready to go.
6. Drink water before coffee or alcohol.
We know, water isn’t exactly enticing. But it’s essential for a healthy body (unlike coffee). Even though coffee in the morning and alcohol in the evening can be pretty tempting, make sure you down a glass of water first. Hydration is key, whether you’re guzzling caffeine or sitting down for an evening drink. A hydrated body means hydrated skin and a better-feeling you.
