Anderson East and Miranda Lambert Just Put Garth Brooks on Blast for Lip Syncing During CMA Awards Performance

I am a Garth Brooks fan through and through, but I'm not a Garth Brooks apologist and when the guy who wins Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards for the sixth time in his career admits later that he was lip syncing, it makes you wonder about a few things.

Anderson East agrees with me and Miranda Lambert agrees with him.

Miranda Lambert Won CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and Touted Carrie Underwood's Vocal Abilities During Her Speech (Again)

For the seventh time in her career Miranda Lambert was named Female Vocalist of the Year during the 51st Annual CMA Awards.

There's no doubt that Lambert had one of the best performances of the evening with her "To Learn Her," which was an absolute throwback in the best of ways. As Garth Brooks said at one point, "Miranda Lambert shoved country music in our faces tonight."

Every Single Time Miranda Lambert Performs "Vice" Live I Remember Why She Always Wins Female Vocalist of the Year

I guess you could say I'm a bit of a Carrie Underwood fan. For being supremely talented and a seemingly great human, she is often incredibly underrated in comparison to country music friend, Miranda Lambert.

Every year for the last 9 years or so Miranda and Carrie are pitted against each other at the ACMs, CMAs and GRAMMYs. Miranda is the artist, Carrie is the vocalist. And lately, MIranda seems to always walk away the victor, no matter the year Carrie has had.

And it's because of performances like this from Miranda on "Austin City Limits."

Miranda Lambert's Performance of "Tin Man" on "Austin City Limits" Will Leave You Feeling Her Pain

As part of "Austin City Limits" 43rd season, Miranda Lambert stopped by the show Friday Nov. 3 for an hour-long performance of her hits.

The 33-year-old delivered a dynamic performance of 13 of her songs, including "Vice," "Automatic," "The House That Built Me" "We Should Be Friends" and the show highlight, an acoustic version of "Tin Man." Between each performance Miranda told personal stories behind the songs.

"Tin Man," featured on the Texas native's Platinum certified double album, The Weight of These Wings, is a note to the Tin Man, who in the movie "The Wizard of Oz " longed for a heart, explaining that he's lucky he doesn't have one so he wouldn't have to experience the pain of heart break as she did and all that comes along with it.

Miranda Lambert Speaks Out on Imbalance of  Men and Women Played on Country Radio– "It's B.S., Straight Up"

Miranda Lambert is gracing the cover of the November issue of Redbook and she's not holding back on all things Miranda.

The 33-year-old singer, who is a tell it like it is kinda gal, talked to the magazine about music, men and the music industry—essentially the disparity between men and women played on radio.

It's a well known fact that women in country music have a much harder time getting a record deal or being played on radio. Ask a female artist how many times they've heard the sentence, "we have too many women already," or "we can't play women back-to-back on radio." The number will probably be too numerous to count.

As far as radio, the evidence is in the charts. The only female artists that have seen consistency on the charts are superstars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert and they still have to fight for their spots. Carly Pearce has been able to sneak in with the vulnerable hit, "Every Little Thing," currently at No. 7 on Billboard Country Airplay chart. Very recently we've been seeing female artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris and Lauren Alaina find some success, but they are few and far between.

When uber-talented artists like Maggie Rose, Lindsay Ell, Cassadee Pope, Brandy Clark and a list too long mention can't get airplay, there's a problem and Miranda isn't holding back on the issue.

"It's B.S., straight up! Carrie Underwood still struggles, and that just blows my mind because she's got a million hits and she's Carrie Freakin' Underwood," Miranda told Redbook. "I tell them at the radio stations, 'Just play one of us; it doesn't have to be me. Then we all win.' I'll fight for it until I can't no more."

We couldn't agree more.

Miranda Lambert Celebrates the Success of 'The Weight of These Wings' by Singing With 14 of Her Favorite Songwriters

To Miranda Lambert, music is medicine. So it stands to reason that the songwriters that distribute their music are our doctors—Doctors of our hearts and minds and souls, who have the power to heal us with their words. When Lambert, who holds songwriters in a high regard, took the stage for the "Front and Center CMA Songwriters Series last week, she wanted to honor those healers—herself included— that helped her get through some of her darkest days.

Lambert was going through a divorce with Blake Shelton in 2015, when she gathered her songwriter friends to help her heal. The result? The Weight of These Wings, Lambert's critically acclaimed platinum selling double-album released last year.

"This night is all about celebrating songwriters and whom they are as people and how they live their lives to inspire their art, Lambert said from the stage. "Thank you to all the songwriters for going down this road with me and spending their time on my journey. That's what I want to do tonight is celebrate them."
