According to ABC News Radio, Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” might be getting a makeover for its 25th anniversary. Billboard is reporting rumors that the song is being re-done with the help of George Strait, as well as Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban. As a bonus, the song will include that famous third verse.
Most of these artists have covered the songs in concert and Urban played the hit tune with Garth earlier this year.
“Friends in Low Places” was released in August 1990 and would go on to win CMA Single of the Year. The track helped Garth’s 1990 album, No Fences, be certified 17 times platinum by the RIAA.
No real word from Garth or his people on this development, but what a song this could be.
