A few weeks ago we heard about Song Suffragettes and knew immediately that this was something we absolutely, positively had to be a part of. Not to say that the bros don’t have their place, they do– like up in a truck, down a dirt road, rolling down a river– but girls have stories, too. And too often those perspectives are missing from modern country music, at least what we’re hearing on country radio. When we found out someone in Nashville was doing something to even the airwaves, we wanted in.
Country Outfitter is proud to present the fall season of Song Suffragettes, the esteemed female-only singer-songwriter showcase happening every Monday night at Nashville’s The Listening Room Cafe. Young women from Maine to California, whose credentials range from small town talent shows to high profile TV competitions like The Voice and American Idol, will be featured in this curated series.
Starting on Monday, October 6, our own Kelly Sutton will emcee each week’s Song Suffragettes performance and inject the weekly showcase with audience interactions, boot giveaways and more. The fall series will also feature special guests like The Valory Music Co.’s RaeLynn who recently performed with Song Suffragettes on September 15 and Curb Records’ Ruthie Collins who will help kick off the fall season on Monday.
For those of you who can’t make it to Nashville, we’ll also be featuring select artists here on Country Outfitter Style. First up is Kentucky singer-songwriter Hannah Ellis.
We can’t wait to introduce you to the talented ladies of the Song Suffragettes this fall!
