Maroon 5’s Adam Levine seems to be a bit of a tough guy, unless he’s facing a guy dressed up as a rat jumping out of a table next to him on The Ellen Show. Because when that happens, he squeals like a little girl.

The shock came on the Friday, November 16 episode as the two were talking about a real encounter that Levine recently had with a mouse at his house.

“I was on the porch and through the glass door I just saw the dog food and the biggest, grossest rat I had ever seen in my life eating the dog food,” Levine remembers. “It was gross and gnarly. He was as tall as I was.”

“Now you are exaggerating,” DeGeneres laughed.

Also during the interview, Levine faced a question about the rumors going around that his band Maroon 5 will be playing halftime at the 2019 Super Bowl.

“What the hell are you talking about,” he asked. “It’s a rumor. I can neither confirm nor deny the truth of this rumor. It’s definitely a rumor. And the rumor is a rumor that everyone seems to be discussing.”
