Adele is one of the biggest voices in the music world and now she’s paying tribute to one of country music’s most beloved singers, June Carter Cash. In her first Instagram post of the year, Adele dresses up like June.
Donned in a floor-length pastel blue gown with white lace and a long brunette wig, Adele portrays the spitting image of June. With an autoharp in her hand, Adele looks as if she’s ready for a performance on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
This is far from the first time Adele pays tribute to one of country music’s greats. Last year, Adele dressed up as Dolly Parton. Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, blonde wig and two-piece pink suit that had her busting out of her top, Adele made for a striking Dolly.
“The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you! We wish We could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I’ll always love you x,” she captioned the image last January.
The legendary June Carter was a five-time Grammy award winner, a member of the Carter Family and second wife of The Man in Black, Johnny Cash. The couple recorded several songs together including, “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “Jackson” and “If I Were a Carpenter.”
June died in Nashville, Tennessee on May 15, 2003 at the age of 73, surrounded by her family, including her husband of 35 years.
