It’s very hard to explain parenthood until you experience firsthand. Just ask television personality Andy Cohen, who is finally a dad to an adorable baby boy!
The Watch What Happens Live host welcomed his first child into the world via surrogate on Monday (Feb. 4.) The baby’s name is Benjamin Allen Cohen and weighed 9 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.
“He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen,” Cohen wrote on his Instagram alongside a black and white pic of the father and son duo. “I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow.”
Indeed, becoming a parent has been a long time coming for the 50-year-old, who announced last December on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live that he was in fact expecting his first child via surrogate. Just last month, Cohen celebrated the life-changing event during a baby shower that was attended by some of reality television’s brightest stars, including a number of women from the Real Housewives cast of shows.
Soon after, Cohen traveled to the east coast for another shower attended by close friends such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa.
Congrats to Cohen on the birth of your adorable little boy. Enjoy every moment.
