In case you missed it, the Backstreet Boys are headed on a world tour in 2019, marking their biggest tour in 18 years.
Alongside the announcement of their tour, the group released a single from their upcoming album DNA, called “Chances.” Co-written by Shawn Mendes and Ryan Tedder, the love song is all about finding your special someone in the most unexpected place.
The chorus sings:
What are the chances that we’d end up dancing? / Like 2 in a million, like once in a life / I could have found you, put my arms around you / Like 2 in a million, like once in a life / What are the chances?
In an interview with Billboard, BSB’s AJ McClean shared a bit about “Chances.”
“Chances” is sonically the closest to “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” but it also stands on its own. Lyrically, the song it’s not your typical Backstreet Boys love song, which is something we all really liked,” he said. “It’s more of that realistic love story about chance, to find that person in the most precarious of scenarios. It’s a really beautiful love song.”
The DNA album will be available on January 25, 2019 and will feature “Chances,” as well as their other recent hit, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”
