Bob Saget is standing by his friend Lori Loughlin as she and husband Mossimo Giannulli plead not guilty to conspiracy charges in the college admissions scandal.

The 62-year-old comedian stopped by the third hour of the Today show Tuesday morning (April 23) to talk about his new movie Benjamin. But when you have Bob Saget in the interview chair, you can’t let him go without asking him his thoughts on his Full House co-star and friend, Lori Loughlin. That’s exactly what the Today show hosts did.

When asked his thoughts on the scandal, Bob tried to avoid answering by saying “I think I’m underqualified.” The actor then joked that he and Lori are in contact “by carrie pigeon.”

“But, I will say I love her and I will say no comment,” he continued. “It’s a personal thing because it’s a strange time and what do you say?”

Bob also showed his support earlier this month, when he was stopped by paparazzi and asked the same question.

“I usually don’t do interviews on the street, but you love who you love in your life,” he said. “I’m being honest. I’m gonna stop talking. I love who I love, Candace said it really good at the Kids Choice Awards,  you love who you love. I’m on the team with people that I love but life’s complicated. I don’t like talking about it.”

Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were arrested for paying $500,000 to have their 2 daughters admitted to the crew team at USC.  As a result, the actress, best known for her role as Aunt Becky on Full House, had lost her deal with the Hallmark franchise and will not appear on the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Reboot, Fuller House. She and her husband are also facing 40 years in prison if found guilty.
