“Grey’s Anatomy’s” Caterina Scorsone Celebrates Her Daughter: “Differences Are Beautiful”

There is no mom out there that doesn’t beam with pride when they look at the angelic faces of their children. And that’s no different for “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Caterina Scorsone. Scorsone celebrated Down Syndrome Awareness Month by sharing some adorable pictures of her dear daughter Paloma.

“Language is important,” she wrote on her Instagram page on Wednesday (Oct. 3) alongside various pics of Paloma smiling away. “Parents don’t have a 1 in 700 ‘RISK’ of having a baby with Down syndrome. Parents have a 1 in 700 CHANCE of having a baby with Down syndrome, just like they have a 50 percent CHANCE of having a girl and a 50 percent CHANCE of having a boy. (With some beautiful variations in there as well). Differences are beautiful. Language changes how people think. Words are important.”

Indeed, the mother of two has long shown her support for the cause on her Instagram feed, which has over a million followers, via the sharing of adorable pics of her daughter. And yes, Paloma seems to be growing up beautifully and will celebrate her second birthday next month.

Scorsone has long been a beloved cast member of Grey’s Anatomy off and on since 2010.
