Former major league baseball player Alex Rodriguez was working as an ESPN commentator in San Francisco over the weekend when the unthinkable happened— He got robbed.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that over $500,000 worth of items were stolen from his rental car on Sunday (August 11,) including ‘bags, camera, camera equipment, laptop computer, jewelry and miscellaneous electrical equipment.”
However, a spokesperson for Rodriquez, who is currently engaged to music powerhouse Jennifer Lopez, says that the $500,000 figure is a bit exaggerated. Nevertheless, Rodriguez isn’t happy.
“I am saddened that several items that were of a personal nature and irreplaceable with sentimental value were taken,” Rodriguez says in an interview with Entertainment Tonight about the incident. “I am encouraged that local law enforcement has security footage of the crime and are doing all they can to get the items back.”
Of course, if anything could make A-Rod feel better, its Ms. Lopez.
“Baby, I know you’ve been killing it in Russia and you’ve got one more show to go,” Rodriquez wrote on his Instagram page over the weekend alongside a sexy bikini pic of J-Lo herself lounging on the beach. “Miss you and I can’t wait to see you back at home!”
