“It was a very modern honeymoon,” the 46-year-old said on Wednesday (Jan. 9) about the trip that she took over Christmas to the Maldives. “Oh, just great conversation and lots of kids. It was great. We had such a good time.”
Indeed, not only did Paltrow bring her ex-husband Chris Martin but also brought along their kids Apple and Moses. Falchuk also brought his two kids from a previous marriage. The blending of these families seems to be working wonderfully at the moment, and something that Paltrow deems to be very important.
“We just wanted to minimize the pain for the kids,” she noted. “They just want to see their parents around the dinner table, basically, so we try to keep that.”
Indeed, Paltrow looks and sounds like she is in a much better place than she once was, not too long ago.
“It’s bizarre to think back on,” Paltrow says in a recent interview about starting a new life following her divorce.
“I had such a different life then. I was completely burned out. I had done 40 films in a decade, and even though there were aspects of it that were incredible, it was also pretty lonely. I was on the road alone a lot. And I had my daughter and I thought, I don’t want to do that anymore.”
