To most of the world, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are superstars, But to their children Lincoln and Delta, they are just mom and dad.

And Bell would like to keep it that way.

“When I’m in public with my kids, I don’t take pictures with anyone because I don’t think my children deserve an upbringing when I am stopping to talk to strangers,” Bell says during a recent interview on SiriusXM with Entertainment Weekly Radio. “I keep it separate.”

Indeed, it can be understandably tough for these two to go out in public. And heck, it’s even tough for them to think about considering themselves famous. Yet, during a recent conversation they had with 5-year-old Lincoln, they realized that the kids are beginning to realize it.

“It was like this moment where we recognized that ‘famous’ meant something to her at school, like its someone people collectively worship,” recalls Bell, who married Shepard back in 2013. “(The kids) know our work cause they’ve seen ‘Frozen’ and sometimes have seen a commercial on TV or when I’ve done an award show or something.”

Of course, if any couple is equipped to handle this dilemma with gentle hands and gentler hearts, its Dax and Kristen.
