One of the cruel facts of life is sometimes, our best moments come with some of our worst, and this dichotomy certainly played out for Lady Gaga on Sunday night (Jan. 13.) Because as Lady Gaga was busy celebrating some big wins at the Critic’s Choice Awards, she received devastating news.
“It saddens me to say that just after the show, I learned that my dear angel of a horse, Arabella, is dying,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a gorgeous pic of her and her horse in better days. “Her name means ‘yield to prayer.’ She is and was a beautiful horse. Our souls and spirits were one. When she was in pain, so was I.”
Lady Gaga went on to speak of the memories they shared together.
“I will never forget the moments we shared together, galloping through the canyons, feeding her cookies. She will forever be a part of me,” Lady Gaga continued. “I am so very sad but I wish for her pain to end and the gates of heaven to open to you. I love you. Girl, where do you think you’re going?”
Just hours before receiving the news, Lady Gaga was all smiles at the Critic’s Choice Awards.
“I am so honored and bless to have won both ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Actress’ alongside Glenn Close this evening,” she wrote in the same post. “My heart is exploding with pride.”
