Celine Dion debuted a brand new song and video Thursday morning (May 3) that has her sharing the stage with the one and only Deadpool.
“I am so excited to share my new single and music video with you,” Celine said on “Good Morning America.” It’s very, very special to me.”
Turns out Celine has recorded the song, “Ashes,” as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming “Deadpool 2” movie, starring Ryan Reynolds. The movie is based on Marvel comics superhero, Deadpool, a wisecracking mercenary who is severely disfigured but finds himself with super healing abilities after experimental mutation used to cure his cancer diagnosis. Sounds depressing doesn’t it? Actually with Ryan Reynolds at the helm, the movie is a laugh a minute.
The video for “Ashes” starts out as a classic Celine video, glamorous, elegant and beautiful all in one. However, midway through, Deadpool enters the picture and takes the video in another direction as he starts classically dancing around Celine. It’s classic Celine, mixed with classic Deadpool. Don’t miss the shoes Deadpool is dancing in.
As the video comes to a close, Deadpool asks Celine to do it all over again.
“Celine, that was amazing. That was the most beautiful performance I’ve ever seen in my life,” Deadpool says. “We need to do it again.”
“Ok, why?” Celine asks.
“Well, it’s too good,” he replies. “This is ‘Deadpool 2’ not ‘Titanic.'” You’re at like an eleven we need to get you down to a 5, 5.5 tops. Just phone it in.
“Listen, this thing only goes to 11,” Celine says pointing to her throat. “So beat it Spiderman.”
“God, I should’ve asked N’Sync,” Deadpool deadpans.
“Deadpool 2” hits theaters May 18.
