Chip and Joanna Gaines are not finished learning about business. You’d think with their successful “Fixer Upper” show and their Magnolia Farms business thriving, they’d have the business side down. But the couple prove that you can never stop learning as they head back to Harvard University to take part in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports program.
Joanna took to Instagram to share their time at the Ivy League school.
In the photos, Chip is decked out in a Harvard sweatshirt with book in hand and a backpack, looking like a typical college student.
The couple weren’t the only celebs to hit campus for the program. The “Fixer Upper” stars were joined by actor Eric Olsen, NBA players Kevin Love, Luc Mbah a Moute, and Julius Randle, Ciara, Australian soccer player Tim Cahill, and German soccer player Oliver Kahn.
Harvard professor Anita Elberse also took to Instagram to share some photos and a little bit about the program.
“We’re at it again with the “Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports” (#BEMS) program!” she wrote. “As always, the class includes a number of people with careers that stand out even from the accomplished executives that normally fill our classrooms. So inspiring that even for these superstars, the learning never stops—and amazing that they chose to join us at @HarvardHBS this week.”
In addition to their trip to Harvard, Chip and Joanna were also celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary on May 31. In a post on Twitter, Chip shared his love for his wife.
“Happy #16th anniversary Joanna! A.k.a. Jojo, joey, jo, boss, mom, ma ma, mommy, sweetgirl, kiddo. My girl by any other name.. but my BEST day is still the day you officially became Joanna Lea Stevens Gaines! #heresToManyMore I love u,” her wrote in a tweet.
Joanna also shared happy wishes to the love of her life.” 6 years and it feels like we’re just getting started… I love you Chip Carter Gaines #16.”
Congratulations to the happy couple on sixteen years of wedded bliss.

We concluded the first full day of the BEMS program with a “live case” discussion with Magnolia legends @joannagaines and @chipgaines and, well… it’s pretty obvious that we had a blast. 😃 So interesting to learn more about how they got their start with Fixer Upper, grew it into a television phenomenon, built the Magnolia brand and drove crowds to Waco, Texas, and how they now approach the launch of their own network. They absolutely crushed it. 🔥🔥🔥 And to think that they are spending time with us while celebrating their 1️⃣6️⃣th wedding anniversary… Pretty impossible not to love these two — these are the kind of events I could only dream of when I started at @HarvardHBS — so I figured some cake was in order… 😍🎂🙌 #Harvard #BEMS #lifeatHBS (📷 by my favorite sidekick @kev.wolf)
