Chris Pratt Says He Was Discovered While Working at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Where He Was Named “Gumper of the Year”

It’s always fun to hear about the things our favorite actors and actresses were doing before they got famous. While most had to work incredibly hard to even get a foot in the door of Hollywood, Chris Pratt was actually discovered while waiting tables at everyone’s favorite chain restaurant, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

Chris went on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” where he talked about his old gig and the day he got discovered by a Director.

“I was waiting tables in Maui, working at a restaurant, living in a fan,” he said. “A director came in and was at my table and was like, ‘You’re cute, do you act?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, you should put me in a movie.”

He went on to say that he earned some pretty high recognition at Bubba Gump— and loved every minute of it.

“I was the Gumper of the Year, I got my name on a plaque,” he said. “I remembered all of the corporate conceptual musts, including getting there within 60 seconds of them sitting down, throwing down the ping pong paddle drink menu, asking them “Forrest Gump” trivia— there’s all this stuff you had to do.”
