Chrissy Teigen was embroiled in a war of words on Twitter with the President of the United States and the mom of two and model stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about the craziness of it all.

“We all just wait for our day to come and mine happened to be Sunday,” Teigen said about the President taking aim at her on Twitter, according to ET.

President Trump took to his social media account of choice and spoke out about Criminal Justice Reform. The President was not happy with other people seemingly wanting to take credit for his action to sign it into law. In his Tweets, he brought Chrissy Teigen’s name into the fray.

“A man named @Vanjones68, and many others, were profusely grateful (at the time). I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, & Republicans deserve much credit. But now it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise. Guys like boring…”he wrote.
“…musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is-but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.”

Chrissy shared that her husband, John Legend, did an interview with Lester Holt about criminal justice reform which led President Trump to think he was taking credit for the act. She was not on the show at all so couldn’t understand how she got brought into the exchange.

“My heart stopped because at that moment you know that you’re about to get just the wildest group of people ever,” she said about the responses. “It was a weird feeling. I was really angry. I think my eyes filled up with water just at the shock of it. I can’t believe this really happened right now.”

But she did admit, the President’s attack wasn’t out of left field. “This wasn’t that random. I’ve said a lot of things in the past, I think since like 2012 I’ve been saying things about him,” she added.

“When the card lands on you that day, it’s like, ‘Oh crap,’ because your whole night’s ruined,” she shared. “We spent the entire rest of the night, just sitting next to each other, handing each other our phone. ‘Should I say this?’ ‘No.’ ‘ Should I say this?’ ‘No, it has to be funnier. No, we’re mad! Yeah, we’re mad!’”

At the time, Chrissy responded to the President’s tweets saying, “lol what a p***y a** b***h. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.”

Followed by a Tweet that read, “the absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn’t speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I’m cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a b***h.”

Can’t we all just get along?
