Mere hours after Dan + Shay’s single “Tequila” came home with a bevy of awards at the 54thAcademy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 7,) The Bachelor Colton Underwood found himself doing karaoke to the hit song.
And in true Vegas fashion, Underwood found the video of the moment the next day.
“I woke up to find this video,” Underwood said on his Instagram page on Monday (April 8.) “Shay, I apologize for doing this to y’alls song, but this was a pretty cool moment. What a weekend with some amazing people and artists.”
And oh yes, he did the karaoke session with none other than Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, who called it the ‘performance of the decade’ in the comments section.
In the video, Underwood can be seen canoodling with his current love Cassie Randolph and looking just as in love as ever. In fact, in a red carpet interview before the awards show, Underwood said that an engagement just might be coming very soon.
“Honestly, if I was a betting man I would say it would happen within the next year, yes,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I think, right now, at this point in our relationship, we’re enjoying this, trying to be as normal as possible. But you know, we’ve talked about our engagement and talked about taking the next step in our relationship and [decided] one thing at a time.”
And if you listen closely you can hear Shay add some new words to “Tequila” singing, “I would jump a fence for ya,” in reference to Colton’s famous fence jumping scene on The Bachelor. All in good fun.
