On the Monday (Nov. 12) night episode of Dancing with the Stars, six couples danced for their right to compete for the coveted Mirror Ball next week during the finale of the dancing competition show. So it came to everyone’s surprise that the couple with the best judge’s scores were one of the couples going home.

Because while Fuller House star Juan Pablo Di Pace and his partner Cheryl Burke wowed the judges all night with perfect scores and a perfect tango and salsa, the viewer’s votes weren’t enough for the couple to stay.

“Joe [Amabile] and Jenna [Johnson], Alexis [Ren] and Alan [Bersten], Juan Pablo and Cheryl [Burke], two of these couples did have the lowest combined total of judges scores and viewer votes,” said co-host Tom Bergeron, before revealing that Ren and Bersten were safe. “That means Joe and Jenna and Juan Pablo and Cheryl have been eliminated.”

As the words were read, you could hear the shocked reaction of people in the audience. The judges themselves even expressed their shock and disappointment over the news while standing up in disbelief.

“There’s no justice here,” said judge Len Goodman.

Soon after the vote, Di Pace was somehow able to keep his emotions in check.

“I just love dancing so much,” said Di Pace, “and at least I got to do it in front of millions of people with this beautiful girl.”

Fans on Twitter reacted to the elimination as well:

The season 27 Dancing with the Stars finale airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
