Not one to waste any time, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Duane Chapman has popped the question to girlfriend Francie Frane, just ten months after the death of his wife, Beth Chapman, from throat cancer.

According to People, Duane and Francie confirmed their relationship in March and he popped the question over the weekend in the couple’s Colorado home.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all,” Frane, a 51-year-old rancher from Colorado, told the outlet. “I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit.”

Definitely one for pomp and ceremony, Duane dropped to one knee and proposed, and is hoping for a big wedding when the fear of coronavirus has decreased or been eliminated.

Francie, too, was married before. Her husband, Bob, passed away shortly before Beth died last June.

Duane says, “I know that when I start to feel bad about Beth and it’s overwhelming, Francie seems to show up and that helps the kids. And I feel that Beth expects her to show up to take care of me. And Bob, Francie’s late husband, expects me to be a man and a gentleman and so I am.”

It sounds as if this union has the support of at least one of Duane’s children. His 21-year-old daughter, Bonnie, says, “Everyone who’s judging my father should sure pray that they never have to lose their loved one and get judged for trying to fill the void. Your opinion is invalid. My mother would’ve wanted him to be happy. Now please shut up and let me my dad live in peace.”

Duane’s marriage to Beth was his fifth and longest union at 13 years.
