I think we can all agree that running into your ex is awkward, whether your relationship ended amicably or in flames. Now, imagine having to not only work with your ex but having to film a show with them that thousands of people will watch.
Christina and Tarek El Moussa, hosts of HGTV’s hit show “Flip or Flop,” got divorced in December of 2016, and the entire separation has been very public. Now, they’re bringing it all to the viewers in a new season of “Flip or Flop,” and Christina says it’s “beyond awkward.”
“It’s all new territory,” she said in a press release. “When our marriage fell apart it was more public than we could have imagined. But we’re picking up the pieces and we’ll still work together to support our kids.”
Tarek agreed, saying they’re just taking it a day at a time. “Flipping houses put us in the spotlight, and while it was tough before, now the pressure is really on,” said Tarek. “We’re still trying to figure out how all of this is going to work.”
Naturally, Christina knows this situation would be awkward for anyone. “This would be awkward for any exes,” she said. “Since we have to see each other every day it’s beyond awkward. I’m planning on staying friendly and keeping things light.”
