Over the years, fans of the show Flipping Out has watched as love bloomed for Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward. But when that love ended this past January, things got ugly quickly, especially regarding custody of their 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter Monroe.
But now, it sounds like things are getting back on track, with Lewis heading to his SiriusXM show Jeff Lewis Live! to share exactly what it took for the pair to come to a legal temporary custody agreement earlier this week.
“We were able to sit down like adults,” Lewis told his listeners on Thursday (August 8) according to People magazine. “We were able to talk things through and we came up with a temporary schedule that works for us. It’s signed. I was very much relieved because my biggest concern was Monroe, and I feel like this works best for her. I want to co-parent with Gage. I’m feeling very hopeful moving forward. He’s a good dad.”
Before their split, Lewis and Gage had been together for 10 years. The two will be back in court at the beginning of October to come up with a permanent agreement.
“I start listening to the cases, and we’re talking domestic violence, child abuse, child endangerment,” Lewis recalled of his time in court this week. “It really put things into perspective. Our problems seemed very trivial. Yesterday was a real win for both of us. I’m so glad we were able to go outside and work it out.”
