Say it isn’t so. The cast of the Netflix sitcom Fuller House is bidding adieu.
In one announcement Netflix revealed some good news and bad news. The good news was that Fuller House was renewed for a fifth season. The bad news was that it will be their final one.
In a an promotional teaser for the the upcoming season 5, DJ, Kimmy, Stephanie and the gang are saying goodbye.
“We’re saving the best for last,” Candace says at the close of the teaser.
When we last left the crew, Kimmy (surrogate) gave birth to Stephanie’s baby and Jimmy Gibbler proposed in the hospital room. Joey, Uncle Jessie and Danny Tanner moved back to San Francisco and the family was back together. With everyone back together again, there’s no telling what shenanigans they will get up to in the final season.
Andrea Barber, who plays Kimmy Gibbler, created a video sharing her “mixed feelings” about the news.
“Obviously, I have a lot of mixed feelings about this. I’m super, super, super excited that we get to come back for a fifth season ad do 18 episodes for you,” she said. “That’s going to be super great. but obviously I’m also a little bit sad that we know that this is going to be the final season. This is going to be it.
“I’m a little melancholy. I’m relieved that we know ahead of time that this is going to be the final season. I’m glad it wasn’t just a big surprise and we never got to plan for it like in the original Full House,” she said. Pushing all the sad stuff aside I’ m really, really excited to get back to work, I’m really excited to make new episodes, I’m really excited to see all my best friends again everyday. Above anything else I am super grateful.”
Netflix has yet to reveal the exact date Season 5 will be available on the streaming service, but it is headed our way this Fall.
